York Cricket Club vs. Indianators CC

York Cricket Club (YCC) took on Indianators CC in an intense and action-packed game, showcasing the team's dynamic batting and disciplined bowling efforts that kept the match on a knife’s edge throughout. Kannan Viswanathan was the star of the innings, smashing a rapid 65 off 43 balls. His 50 came off just 28 balls as he rampaged through the opening bowlers, setting the early pace with 6 massive sixes. Sathishraj Mohanraj provided a crucial knock of 29 off 52 balls in the middle order, while valuable contributions from Echi Fernando and Stephen Williams helped YCC reach a competitive total of 225, bolstered by 66 extras—a significant number that highlighted the need for tighter control in future matches.

On the bowling front, Hyder Syed was the standout, taking 3 for 39 in his 8 overs, while Rafi Mohamed chipped in with 2 wickets, and George Muthu’s sharp fielding resulted in a critical run-out. Special mentions to tight bowling spell in the middle overs by Venkat and George. Despite YCC's efforts, Indianators CC managed to chase down the target in a closely fought battle, finishing on 226 for 7.

York Cricket Club vs. Rising Stars CC

In Sunday’s match against Rising Stars CC, YCC's bowlers were in top form, led by an outstanding performance from Shawn Rankothgedra. Shawn's 6-wicket haul for just 12 runs was simply top-notch, particularly with his deadly in-swingers with the new ball. The batsmen appeared genuinely rattled, struggling to handle the movement and pace of his deliveries. As a wicketkeeper, it was a pleasure to witness his spell from close quarters; his dominance was a masterclass in swing bowling.

Harry Shivs also made a significant impact, taking one of the best catches of the season at long-on to dismiss the in-form Srujan. The catch not only broke the back of the Rising Stars' batting but also showcased Harry’s exceptional fielding skills.

In the chase, Pradap Devaraj anchored the innings with a composed 58 off 68 balls, including six towering sixes. He was well-supported by Dominic Dumenil, who played a crucial role in steadying the innings with his patient 22 runs off 50 balls. Sunday was extra special for Dominic, as it was his birthday, making his knock a memorable contribution for him, the club, and his family. Together, Dominic and Pradap formed a solid partnership that guided YCC through some tricky phases, ensuring that the team reached the target of 121 comfortably with 11 wickets in hand (played 12).
